Muhammad encouraged freeing slaves

Slavery existed before Muhammad’s time. In fact, it was part of many social systems in the world. Slaves were considered as assets and part of people’s wealth. Since Islam protects peoples’ wealth and property, slavery was gradually abandoned.

This battle is also called the “Battle of Confederates”. Since Muhammad was not killed in the previous battle, Meccan chiefs and some Arab & Jewish tribes called for a united effort and a comprehensive assault to kill Muhammad and destroy the Muslim community.
